The California bar exam 2012 will happen for three days in a row. The individual must pass this certain test so that he or she will be allowed to practice law in this state. Take note, that in the United States, this is one of the hardest tests. This examination is very important for two reasons: it decides whether the individual has a vast knowledge in the Rules of Professional Conduct, and it tests their moral character.
Approximately 170,000 members are active on their profession. Overall, they have about 200,000 members both inactive and active combined. When the individual becomes a lawyer, they are required pay a membership fee every year. The reason for this is the integrated bar.
Because the State Bar is a public corporation, they act upon the demand of a varying society. They take the duty to inform it’s members and the public for any changes. It is also good to know that the State Bar is a judicial branch of the Supreme Court. Two of them are actually headquartered in San Francisco.
The days for the examination are February 28, 29 and March 1, 2012. There will be two different types of tests. One, will be a General Bar Examination and the other is called, Attorneys’ Examination. The General Bar Examination will contain three parts: Multistate Bar Examination, two performance tests and six essay questions. For three days, there will be two test sessions. One will occur in the afternoon and another one in the morning. Each sessions will last for three hours.
The attorney’s Examination is a bit different because it only has two parts. On February 28, essays 1, 2 and 3 will be taken in the morning, and in the afternoon will be the performance test. There will be no tests on Wednesday. On the morning of March 1, essay 4, 5 and 6 will be taken and performance test will be in the afternoon.
If you’re thinking about being an attorney, it is best to make sure the school that you’re planning to go to meets the education and admission standards of the State Bar.
